Basics of Python Programming | Data Manipulation & Management | Machine Learning & Data Science Modeling | Data Visualization using Tableau
In these classes, students will be introduced to some of the major concepts of Data Science (Python Programming, Database Management, Basic Modeling Building, Machine Learning, and Data Visualization) and some of the tools used in profession (Python, Data Science Platforms, and Tableau). This is not meant to replace the mathematics or economics degree created by four year institutions, but instead, to enhance the person who is almost a data scientist but is missing a few needed skills to “round them out.”
Graduates of the DSA will leave with the confidence and skills of an entry level data scientist and be able to have conversations with business units, build predictive analytical MVPs, and be able to know and continue to learn the skill sets needed for data science projects.
Cohort 6 -- January 14, 2019 - August 11, 2019 APPLY
Python and Advanced Data Science Modeling
Data Science has gone from needing to know how to code to most modeling techniques having standardized libraries that can be pasted into a program. This means that one may do data science without understanding what the models mean or actually do. This class will drill into how to program the models the traditional way. We will use Word2Vec to scrape, debug, and enhance data science models. We will also show how to use Python to solve other gaps such as calculations, other data manipulation, and random number population. $3500
With an increase in demand of 1,581% from 2011-2015, Forbes showed this one skill alone is immensely valuable in helping key non-technical business users understand data and analytics. In this class, we will teach the fundamentals of data visualization using Tableau, an industry-wide benchmark for quality visualization tools. Students will learn the necessary skills to build visualizations and best practices needed to make them implementable. $3500
